On September 24th, NCRC Equivico’s Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, Eleni Delimpaltadaki Janis spoke at The Exchange 2020. The conference, which aims at scaling social impact, has been presented by The Social Impact Exchange for the past ten years. This year, in partnership with Morgan Stanley, the event panelists focused on the theme of Unifying Leadership. Topics that were explored included concerns of racial equity, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current recession in the U.S.
In the segment, “Financing Change and Financial Inclusion,” Eleni and fellow expert panelists discussed new, innovative models to increase capital flow into low-income communities at scale. Through discussing concepts such as responsible small business lending and investment strategies for advancing racial equity and economic opportunity, prominent themes that arose included required institutional changes and firms that are leading the way in diversifying investment models for real systems change. “Remove the notion that commercial is bad for impact. Responsible commercial activity is how we get to scale,” said Eleni.
